Irish Mountain Orchard is opening Saturday, September 3!  

We will have Zestar! apples available for u-pick--and in bins for those who don't want to walk out through the orchard to pick their own.

Zestar! is a terrific apple...in fact, it's our family's favorite.  It's earlier so it's not as hard as Honey Crisp, but the flavor is amazing, and  it has beat Honey Crisp in blind  taste tests.  If you haven't tried Zestar!, I hope you'll give it a chance.  It's excellent both for eating fresh and for making applesauce and other treats.  And it's so sweet that usually you can cut down on sugar, if that's important to you.

We expect Honey Crisp to be available in 10-14 days...they just aren't ready to pick yet.  Picking them too early results in disappointment.  Keep checking back for availability. 

Later in the season we will have Connell Red, Fireside, Haralson, and Chestnut crabapples in limited quantities.  All are excellent, and everyone has his or her own favorite.  Chestnut crabapples have gained a devoted following over the years.  They are MY favorite of all the apples we grow.  They are large for crabapples and have a unique and very special flavor.  They are not very good keepers so are best enjoyed as soon as they are available.  Check back!

Our hours are Thursday though Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  We will stop admitting new u-pick customers at 5:30 p.m.  We look forward to seeing you soon!
