Apple season is coming to a close for another year. This is the last Sunday that we will be open, and  our final day will be Thursday, October 31.

Hours are Sunday-Thursday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; we are closed Friday and Saturday.

We still have plenty of Honey Crisp and Zestar apples.  Honey Crisp are pretty good keepers, so if you want to stock up before we close and have a cool place to keep them (an extra refrigerator is perfect), you should be fine to keep them for several weeks. Chestnut crab apples are also still available.  We are, however, out of Haralsons and Firesides, and the pears are gone, as well.

We hope you'll take time to stop out between now and October 31 and pick up some great apples! And if you don't make it back, thank you for your patronage...we really appreciate it and enjoy seeing many of you year after year.

Fireside Apples are available

Just want to let everyone know that the Fireside apples are available now.  They are big and delicious!  I made apple crisp from some this week, and the whole big pan was gone in 24 hours...I guess that means it was good 😋

Finally there are Honey Crisp apples  ready to pick!  They will be available when we open Thursday, so if you’ve been waiting, the wait is over!

See you at the orchard Sun. - Thurs. 10 am -6 pm.

Opening Sunday, September 22!

We will be opening Sunday, September 22 and will have Zestar! and chestnut crab apples available then long with pears.

Unfortunately, it appears that the Honeycrisp won’t be ready to pick until the end of the month so we will have those available October 1.  Thank you for your patience while nature takes the apples to their peak flavor and color!

We also have a larger crop of pears this year.  In past years people have been disappointed because we have sold out of them fairly early in the season.  So if you've missed them, now is your chance!

Our hours are Sunday-Thursday from 10 am.m - 6 p.m.  We are closed Friday and Saturday.

We hope to see you at the orchard!

Irish Mountain Orchard Gearing Up for Harvest

The apples are growing well, and we are hopeful for a good harvest this year. The last couple of years have not been great due to the bizarre weather we had. This year the crop looks great; however, we expect the apples to be about two weeks late due to the late frost and cold weather this spring.

My dad, who owns the orchard and is our apple wizard, will begin taste testing every day soon. He waits until the apples are at the peak of their flavor before starting to pick. Often people are anxious to begin selling and don't wait until the apples are actually ready, which totally defeats the purpose! We have had a lot of customers who said, "Oh, I tried those somewhere else and didn't like them" about some variety; however, when they try ours they are surprised at the great taste.

This year we will have Zestar!, Honey Crisp, Connell Red Fireside, Fireside, and Haralson. We also expect to have pears, which have proven to be really popular. Don't wait too long, as we usually run out of pears!

Currently it looks like we will open around the middle of September, but please check our website often; I promise to post as soon as we have a firm opening date. For those of you on our email list, I will also email the opening date.

We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the orchard soon!
